Teens are more stressed out than ever before. While it's normal to feel anxious when faced with a challenging situation, if worries become overwhelming and anxiety starts interfering with a teen’s ability to get through everyday tasks, it is time to seek help.
“All teenagers experience anxiety. Most of this anxiety is the normal human experience,” says Ken Duckworth, M.D., medical director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. “When anxiety becomes a big part of your life that impacts your functioning, schoolwork, social drive and the ability to make it in the world as a teenager, that’s something that has to be attended to.” Watch the video above.
